Reprints
- What is a reprint?
- How do I find out whether an Act or Statutory Rule has been reprinted?
1. What is a reprint?
OCPC is responsible for producing reprints which are printed by the Government Printer and are published by authority.
A reprint incorporates all amendments made to an Act or Statutory Rule that are in operation at the date of publication. Any uncommenced provisions appear in the Appendix at the end of the reprint. These amendments will commence as provided in the amending legislation.
As from 5 June 1996 a document purporting to be a copy of a reprint of an Act printed by the Government Printer for Victoria is on production of that document admissible as evidence before all courts and persons acting judicially within Victoria (see section 54(2B) of the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984 on The Victorian Law Today).
