Victorian Legislation

Victorian Law Today
This site contains all current principal Victorian Acts and Statutory Rules. The first version you will see for each law is the latest version which includes any amendments that are in force.

Every time legislation is amended a new version is made. Underneath the latest version are the past versions of each law, where you can find the version that was in operation at a given date (back to 1 July 1997).

Note: Victorian Law Today does not include Acts or Statutory Rules that were created only to amend other acts or statutory rules. These Acts or Statutory Rules can be found in the Victorian Statute Book.

Victorian Statute Book
This site contains the original version of all Acts and Statutory Rules enacted or made since 1 January 1996.

Note: These are the original versions and do not include any subsequent amendments. The current versions of a Principal Act or Statutory Rule can be found in Victorian Law Today.

Parliamentary Documents
This site contains Bills currently before Parliament and you can track their progress through the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.

Within each Bill link you can access details relating to the Bill such as the second reading speeches in Parliament, the Statement of Compatibility, Explanatory Memorandum, Royal Assent date, and name of the Member who introduced the Bill.

The site also includes parliamentary documents such as notice papers, question papers and minutes, as well as Hansard.

To access printed copies of legislation and other legislation information (including commencement dates), see Publications.
